Not only is Provincetown known for its Cape Cod vacations and Atlantic Ocean hotels, Provincetown is known throughout the world for a diversity of exceptional restaurants. Visitors can stay for a month or more and dine in a different restaurant each day. Not one of Provincetown’s eating places or food stands is part of a national chain. Many of the owners are also the chefs and they create new menu items daily.

Provincetown has at least 70 places to eat, including bakeries and delis with take-out menus. The majority are located within a two-mile stretch of Commercial Street, the town’s main street which runs along the waterfront. Most are within walking distance (3/4 mile) from the Chateau Provincetown.

There are snug cellar restaurants, open decks, sidewalk cafes, casual taverns, sophisticated bistros, elegant dining rooms and family eateries enhancing your Cape Cod vacation.

Because of its location near the Atlantic Ocean and population, Provincetown is best known for its seafood and Portuguese cuisine, but other ethnic specialties abound: Northern and southern Italian, Mexican, Asian, Middle Eastern, Caribbean, Southwestern and Continental. Most have one or more vegetarian entrees on the menu.

While some restaurants specialize in fresh seafood dishes, every restaurant offers some fish and shellfish items. From the windows of waterfront restaurants, diners can see the commercial fishing boats bringing in their catch.

For your convenience, we have menus of various restaurants in our lobby and will be happy to you assist you with making your reservations during your Cape Cod experience.
